Brave Little Tailor
This is a recreation of a shot from Disney's 1938 short film, Brave Little Tailor.
April, 2022 - February, 2025
The first version I did back in 2022. As you can see, it was lacking in lighting and texture, which I improved upon. I repainted some surfaces, like the pumpkins and the barrel, with more saturated colors and stronger shadows.
Development
Just like with Mickey’s Fire Brigade, I used a frame from an animated short film I like, to study and make my painting. But actually, I did this painting back in 2022, when I was first starting. Recently when I was putting together my portfolio, I decided not to add this work because I felt it didn't represent my current level. So I had the idea to come back to the painting and remaster it, to improve with what now I'm able to. And it was a really cool experiment, because it showed me how much I evolved and learned in a few years.
